Canopy Adventure is a Costa Rican family owned business located on a private farm on the mountains of Heredia. The farm has 1700 acres (700 hectares) out of which 700 acres (300 hectares) are set aside for conservation purposes. This eco tourism project is under a program that protects the cloud forest and sells oxygen to the world. The other half of the property is a cypres plantation utilized under a very strict management process that is environmentally friendly.

Only 30 minutes away from the international airport and 45 minutes from the nation’s capital (San Jose). Located in San Jose de la Montaña, Heredia; at the foot of the Barva Volcano, the biggest volcanic mass in Central America.

The canopy tour has 1 hanging bridge, 13 platforms and 11 cables suspended around gigantic oak trees, typical to old growth forests. The cables used in the zip lining activity are galvanized stainless steel. The length of these go anywhere from 60 to 600 feet, and most of them are suspended on the canopy and go over beautiful waterfalls. Our tour is focused on natural conservation and the safety of our clients. We have several hiking trails, some on the ground and others are elevated. In this spectacular setting our guides will share their knowledge of the cloud forest with you.

For those that want to keep their feet on the ground and don’t mind a nice walk, we have hiking trails. Some of the things we will be able to see during our adventure are natural spring waters, waterfalls, gigantic old trees; like the oak trees and the strangler figs; and jaw dropping views of the Pacific Ocean and central valley..
